Sustainable Practices

Made Ethically

At VEY OceanFairMade Apparel, we believe in transparency and ethical practices in every step of our production process. We take pride in knowing who makes our clothes and ensuring that there is no exploitation involved.

All our garments are carefully handmade in Bali and Java, Indonesia, in a small family factory where skills and creativity come together to bring our designs to life. We maintain a close relationship with the talented artisans who turn our sketches into beautiful, wearable pieces.

To reduce our environmental impact, we have made significant changes such as switching from plastic bags to compostable Cassava starch and eliminating single-use plastic from our operations. Our commitment to sustainability extends to our packaging and shipping processes, which are handled from our plastic-free facility in Canggu, Bali.

We embrace the concept of small batch production, with each piece hand-numbered to ensure accountability and traceability. By upcycling offcuts into stylish accessories and reusable materials, we minimize waste and promote a circular approach to fashion.

At VEY, we invite you to consider the story behind your clothes, the hands that craft them, and the values they represent. Join us in supporting ethically made fashion that respects both people and the planet.

GREEN WASHING

At VEY OceanFairMade Apparel, we prioritize transparency and authenticity in everything we do. Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond mere words or catchy phrases; we strive to provide you with detailed information about our products, their origins, the people involved in their creation, our distribution processes, and what happens once our pieces are in your hands.

We believe in continuous improvement and welcome your ideas on how we can further enhance our practices together. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we work towards a more responsible and ethical future. Thank you for being a part of our journey towards positive change.

ECONYL® REGENERATED NYLON

Out Planet is constantly threatened by the environmental pollution and we think that making products without using new resources is part of the solution.

I am super excited to begin our work with ECONYL® regenerated yarn produced by Italian Company Aquafil. They have invented a way of converting discareded nylon into a high-performance regenerated yarn used for swimwear fabric, helping us to close the loop and turn a problem into a solution.

All our plain colored bikinis are made with ECONYL® nylon

What is ECONYL® NYLON?

ECONYL® yarn is a 100% regenerated nylon fiber made from nylon waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, carpet flooring and industrial plastic rescued from all over the world. Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. that means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as fossil-based nylon and has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality.

REPREVE

Fiber made from recycled
plastic bottles...to do good.

Billions of plastic bottles go into landfills every year. But now you can do something about it. REPREVE is the leading, most trusted, branded performance fiber made from recycled materials (including plastic bottles).

All our Printed bikinis are made from Repreve.

Unifi, which makes Repreve, has recycled over 25 billion plastic bottles.

  • Generates enough energy to power 236,567 homes for 1 year.

  • Provides 2.9 million people their typical daily drinking water for 1 year.

  • improves air quality by avoiding 646 million kg of co2 emissions.

Conserving resources

Repreve is not just finding new life for recycled material. Compared to making what’s called virgin fiber, making repreve offsets using new petroleum, emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserving water and energy in the process. That makes a big difference for our future.
